Red White and Blue Jammies

Yes folks I am sitting here in red, white, and blue plaid jammie pants, and oh how comfy they are!

We had a relatively calm Fourth of July. No big plans. We made star shaped cookies, lounged about all day, and went to the local fireworks display this evening. They didn't start until 9:30- so a certain little someone was thrilled at the idea of staying up very very late. She was however begging for night night by the time we rolled through the front door at about 10:45.
Here are a few photos from our little day. Hope you all had a nice relaxing Fourth as well.star shaped cookies!

I tried to recreate this photo.

Z is for Zoe and Z is for Zebra

We took Zoe to the Zoo yesterday. We had some minor rain showers through the day but all in all it was a really great day to be there -75ish degrees in late June just does not happen. Since we took dozens of pictures I will leave you with a beginning, a middle, and an end photo. To each photo I added a little quote from our little Zoe Bug. The end photo may be my favorite- aren't I just awful! Look, the bears are waving at me!Zebras are just like me!!!But I don't wanna go home I wanna ride the zebra again!

p.s. still not feeling great but I am doing much better...6 months to go!

Water + Corn Starch + Food Coloring =

Sidewalk paint!

I wish I could remember which blog I read posted about this yesterday, but for the life of me I don't remember nor do I want to go back and read the 80 plus blogs I have in my bloglines right now to find it....so thank you to whoever it was!
It is really simple to make. Equal Parts water to corn starch (I used 1/4 C each) plus drops of food coloring to get your desired color and poof...instant fun!
Zoe loved it. We sat on the front porch for an hour and she still wanted to paint more.

Much better and craving homemade cinnamon rolls

Honestly homemade cinnamon rolls is all I have been thinking about lately. For some reason the canned ones in the dairy section at the grocery store just don't sound anywhere near good enough and those enormous ones they sell at the mall are much too cinnamony for me. Homemade ones-yep that is what is on my brain as of late. If you have or know of a really awesome recipe please share!
Thanks so much for all of your very very kind words about the house cleaning! The fact that poor Zoe has been propped in front of the tv and the fact that I now have less time than before to finish up wedding stuff for my friend is the actual issue. We did get out for a bit this weekend with Zoe, but she had a 24 hour flu bug on Friday that seemed to make her cranky for 3 days which made it hard to actually have much fun, but we made due. I figure I will enlist Steve's help for the wedding stuff (I just really don't want to do it...blah). I am feeling better each day...which makes sense as the 1st trimester is coming to an end. However, I still am ready for bed by 8pm each night...which weirds me out being such a night owl and all.
On my agenda for the day? I think I will work a bit on number 8 off my list, tackle number 13, and maybe a little of number 1 too. In the mean time I am going to enjoy a nice slice of beer bread we made yesterday....mmmmmmm.

Busy doing nothing

Well, the medication I have been taking seems to be doing ok. Although I don't think it is actually taking the morning sickness away...more so masking it. Oh and by 6pm I am worthless and lately by 8pm I am in bed fast asleep. That is one thing I am so grateful for with this pregnancy...my ability to sleep in large quantities! With Zoe I never ever slept. Now onto my list of things I have not been doing... (aka the list of things that need to get done)...in no particular order.

1. Laundry
2. Dishes
3. Cooking
4. Vacuuming
5. Dusting
6. Yard work
7. Taking Zoe out to enjoy summer
8. Making Wedding Programs
9. Getting ready for my shop update
10. Eating a proper diet
11. Wearing something other than jammie pants (thank goodness I have tons of them)
12. Picking up the general clutter
13. Cleaning bathrooms
14. Mopping
15. Grocery Shopping
16. Finishing Zoe's room
17. Making that new dress I have in mind for Zoe
18. Starting Christmas gifts (gotta get an early start with this due date in mind)
19. Playing with Zoe (tv has become a friend)
20.Blogging!

Oh, I should also mention Steve has been home sick ALL week. Which translates into all of this needing to be done times 2! Photo below is the one and only finished item I have for the shop update...

Have you seen this????

Have you sen this meme out there in blogland? I have been catching up on loads of blogs lately (I am feeling much better now!-thank you for all your kind words!) This meme seems to be going around and I thoguht it might be fun to see what I am drawn to, photo wise. To no surprise on my part I think this mosaic has a very artistic feel to it and the pictures almost seem to even go together...funny eh? My husband is fully aware that when Johnny Depp comes a knockin' on my door we are just going to have to get divorced!...lol...I kid, maybe!
The Questions:
1. What is your first name? Amy
2. What is your favorite food? Greek
3. What high school did you go to? Hazelwood Central Highschool
4. What is your favorite color? Pink
5. Who is your celebrity crush? Johnny Depp
6. Favorite drink? Margarita
7. Dream vacation? France
8. Favorite dessert? Pastries
9. What you want to be when you grow up? Artist
10. What do you love most in life? My Daughter
11. One Word to describe you. Creative

The Truth About What I Have Been Working On...

Ok, I know I have been very very quiet lately about a certain little project I have been working on. And the little photo of more so my hands than the actual project was somewhat of a little fib- sort of. Oh, I did make something on the sewing machine that day- an appliqued t-shirt for Zoe...but I will get to that in a minute.

To be perfectly honest the little project I have been working on has had me sick as a dog for a while now. I am actually on medication for it. This is the first day I have felt remotely good enough to even get onto the computer and really do a little blogging. My poor bloglines might just explode too...soooo many blogs to read and so little feeling good time to do it in. I know I know I am being cryptic, but I am sure a few of you have it all figured out already... Should I just tell you now???

Zoe is a bit excited about it I must say. Oh and her little t-shirt I made is now her favorite article of clothing. For me? Well, the doctor actually mentioned hospital stay and iv fluids! Yikes! I just hope this medication continues to work, but oh lordie is it making me tired! I swear I could sleep 20 hours a day right now!

Oh wait! I still haven't exactly mentioned what all of this is about...as if you don't know! What is causing me to need medication??? The worst morning sickness I have ever experienced! I am telling you-I have not visited the bathroom more in my life! It is so bad I have actually lost 4 pounds! Now here is the fun part...January 1st-that is our due date! Can you even believe it! A New Years Baby! Never say never folks, because I said I never wanted a Christmas or New Years Baby! So, I haven't returned e-mails, read/commented on your blog as of late, or changed out of jammies for over a week (oh yes so true), but good lord are we excited about this little project my body is busily working on!

So much to do so little time

I have mentioned a couple of times about my plans to redo my etsy shop in July. Things are not looking like this will happen, but I do have more than a month to go until July is here and I never said it would be on July 1st right?!?! Here is just one of my plans for the shop......embroidered, wool felt covered thumb tacks. I have not found anything quite like them on etsy and hope they do well. Although, I am very aware that my hair clips may be my only success I will keep trying to find another item to make. I won't lie folks... I have very much enjoyed NOT making hair clips for the past few months. A much much much needed break from them! But I think I am definitely gearing up to make bunches more. I should make a little note here to keep checking in on my shop. I have been adding items to the SALE section for 50% off and once July hits whatever has not been sold will be removed and replaced with all new items. I have upgraded the felt I use and no longer want to use the craft felt. There is a difference in feel along with a much broader variety of colors. This is a change I am really excited about. Good grief! Is it really almost June?!?! This is just one out of a million things I am working on...I better get busy!

P.S. Thanks so much for all your kind words for poor Zoe! It took her about a day to forget about her arm and use it again and then she was completely back to her normal little self!

What a lovely afternoon until...

I decided to have a picnic lunch in the backyard yesterday. PB & J, fresh strawberries, goldfish crackers, and an exciting game of Candy Land for dessert- what more could a three year old ask for?

Certainly not an unexpected trip to her doctor! While running through the yard Zoe fell and apparently dislocated her elbow! Thinking she may have broken it off we went for her doctors office. A couple of hours and an x-ray later we came home with ice cream for dinner and the diagnoses of Nursemaids Elbow. Today she is cranky and still won't use it, but overall she will be fine and thank goodness we won't be dealing with a cast this summer!

I would like to introduce you to...

....a few new friends, but since they have arrived they have been a bit occupied. They traveled from afar and have only arrived a short time ago. Zoe is just tickled pink to have these new little friends, and has been playing tea party ever since! Thanks so much Melanie...you are too sweet!
